Again this year, students at Veterans Park School eagerly turned in their PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Strategies) cub coins for the chance to win some summer fun!  Melissa Knowles, Veterans Park Principal, explained that this is the 4th year they have offered this opportunity to their students.

“During the school year students earn cub coins as rewards for positive behavior and showing PRIDE,” explained Knowles. “At the end of the year they cash in their remaining coins for raffle tickets and the chance to win a variety of prizes that have been donated by local businesses. The grand prize is a brand new bike, donated by Lifetouch School Portraits.

This year the happy winner of the bike was 5th grader Teddy Gomulka. When his name was called for the grand prize Teddy was in shock, “I couldn’t believe they called my name- I was overjoyed and so happy!  What a great way to end my 5th grade year.”

“This raffle is a fun way to end the school year,” commented Knowles.  “We are very grateful for the generosity of the local businesses that support this event.” (list below)
