Mrs. Melissa Knowles, Veterans Park Principal, recently asked every student to help with the creation of a Veterans Park I AM Wall. This wall would be a reflection of Veterans Parks’ mission to acknowledge and embrace our differences, and accept and respect everyone for who they are.

Students were asked- who are you and what trait or characteristic best describes you. Once they determined their word - it could be a strength or a challenge -  they wrote it on a label, that they then decorated. Each class then added their label to the bulletin board, by the bus door, where students enter and exit the building.  The end result was a work of art with an important message of acceptance.

Knowles shared, “The hope is that this wall will be a reminder to all of us that we need to be proud of who we are, celebrate who we are and support others for who they are!”

We welcome you to view the video of students building the I AM Wall.
